Irrigation & Water Conservation

Think Green

with Top-Grade Irrigation Systems

Water-Wise

We believe that landscaping should not only be beautiful, but easy to maintain as well. To keep your property looking stunning all-year-round, we install the most advanced irrigation technology available, and we make sure it works at peak efficiency. A correctly installed and maintained landscape irrigation system saves thousands of gallons of excess outdoor water use annually.

Whether manual or automated, a solid irrigation plan can help stave off high water bills and peak demand. Irrigation systems vary by lawn size, environmental regulations, geographic location, and underground utilities. Irrigation systems are also customized based on plant life involved: trees, flowers, vegetables, shrubs, grass types, and more.

Water Conservation & Management

Water is wonderful…

until there is too much of it.

Storms and winter months bring excess water to your home and property. Soggy yards lacking appropriate drainage measures can often lead to a flooded foundation and basement, and then to water and mold damage. Wet spots in your yard are a nuisance and an eyesore. Grass will die if it’s underwater for too long. Mow over wet areas and everyone is soon tracking mud into the house. Southern Scape has been a top-notch irrigation specialist for decades. Custom-designed drainage and irrigation systems are available for any situation.

Your home is your sanctuary. We are the best in the business at creating drainage plans that flow with the lines of your landscaping.

We are well-experienced in designing creek beds, dry wells, and rain gardens. We install drains and pipe out downspouts. We offer grading solutions for your landscaping to redirect the water flow…we can even recirculate it to flow into water barrels so you’re conserving and re-using Mother Nature’s gift!

Water Where It Belongs, and Nowhere Else

An irrigation system is a promise you make to every plant on the property. Kept well, it is invisible: turf that holds its color through an August dry spell, beds that never wilt while you are on vacation, and a water bill that stays reasonable because the system waters roots, not sidewalks. Kept badly, you see it everywhere, in brown crescents where heads do not reach and mushy corners where they overlap.

The craft is in zoning. Turf, shrubs, and beds drink differently, so they belong on different valves with different schedules. Drip lines feed foundation plantings without wetting the siding. Smart controllers read the weather and skip the rain you were about to duplicate. As licensed horticulturists, we design irrigation from the plant’s side of the equation, which is the side that matters.

Irrigation is the quiet partner of everything green we do: landscape design, new planting, and the maintenance that keeps it all thriving.

Thirty Years, One Standard

Southern Scape has designed, built, and kept landscapes alive across Madison and Huntsville since 1996. Licensed horticulturists and insured crews, a one-year warranty on workmanship, and six months on plant material.

How an Irrigation Project Comes Together

Audit the property

Sun, shade, slope, soil, and plant palette, mapped zone by zone before anything is trenched.

The design

Heads, drip, and valves laid out for coverage without waste, with a controller you will actually understand.

The install

Clean trenching, careful restoration, pressure testing, run by a project manager who keeps you informed.

The seasons after

We tune the schedule to the season and stand behind the workmanship for a full year.

Irrigation Questions, Answered

Can you repair or extend an existing system?

Yes. Diagnosing tired systems, rezoning them, and bringing them up to current standards is regular work for us.

Will smart controllers really lower the bill?

Weather-based controllers stop the two biggest wastes: watering in the rain, and watering on a schedule the season no longer needs. Most owners notice the difference in a summer.

When is the best time to install irrigation?

Any season the ground can be trenched, though pairing it with new planting is the natural moment: the system is designed for exactly what is going in.

Keep It All Alive
