We Expand the View
With our gorgeous Landscape Design
Ready? Set? Grow!
Your home should reflect beauty, functionality, and personal fulfillment. Our number one focus is to create a landscape design that fits who you are and how you wish to spend your leisure time.
- Prefer simple or complex?
- Meditative or playful?
- Cosmopolitan or casual?
- Be as creative as you wish – we’re going to make it innovative!\
- Then, when the rubber hits the road (or, rather, where the shovel hits the dirt), you’ll see your design begin to come to life!
Your landscape is a living, breathing, changing entity….just as you are. We create a landscape that thrives and evolves, just like you. By the time we are done, your landscape will make people stop and breathe deep – a living piece of art that withstands the test of time and gives your home intrigue.
Our Work
Design Is Where Everything Begins
Every project we build starts as a drawing, and every drawing starts with a walk. Drew Treece, our designer, reads a property the way most people read a room: where the light falls in the evening, where the water wants to go, where the eye lands first from the kitchen window. The plan that comes out of that walk is not a catalog of features. It is one coherent landscape, drawn for your house and no one else’s.
Good design pays for itself twice over. It keeps you from building the wrong thing, and it sequences the right things so each phase makes sense on its own. A master plan can be built over years, one comfortable stage at a time: the patio this season, the lighting next, the water feature when you are ready for it.
Thirty Years, One Standard
Thirty years and more than a thousand Tennessee Valley projects set the standard we build to. Our crews are licensed and insured, workmanship carries a one-year written warranty, and plant material six months.
From First Walk to Finished Landscape
The site visit
We walk your property together and listen more than we talk. How you live outside matters more to the design than anything in a portfolio.
The plan
Drew turns the visit into a drawn plan: spaces, materials, planting, grading, and the order it should all be built in.
The build
One of our project managers, Adam, Brandon, or Paul, takes the plan and runs it, keeping the crew moving and you in the loop.
The living landscape
Plants settle in over their first season. Ours come with a six-month warranty, and the workmanship under them carries a full year.
Design Questions, Answered
Do I have to build the whole plan at once?
No. A good master plan is built to be phased. Many of our clients build over two or three seasons in the order the plan lays out.
Who will actually design my landscape?
Drew Treece, our in-house designer, working with Greg Shaw, who has owned and run Southern Scape since 1996.
What does a landscape plan include?
Layout, materials, planting, grading, and the build order, drawn to your property. It is a document you can build from in phases, not a sketch that dies in a drawer.
